“Chaw News” is the official website of the “Kurdistan Human Rights Center of Iran.”
The Kurdistan Human Rights Center of Iran is an independent institution that was founded and is managed by a group of human rights, cultural, and political activists in 2016 in Iranian Kurdistan to operate in the field of human rights.
The core principle and basis of this institution’s work is adherence to the International Bill of Human Rights. In view of the systematic violation of human rights in Kurdistan, the Kurdistan Human Rights Center of Iran strives to act as a center for the development and institutionalization of the culture of human rights in Iranian Kurdistan. Our goals are to achieve all human rights, and individual and social freedoms in Kurdistan, based on international principles and rules, including the International Bill of Human Rights and all global conventions and agreements.
Publishing news and information, reacting to and taking a stand against incidents of human rights violations, preparing and delivering reports to human rights advocacy centers and international bodies, publishing articles, interviews, and preparing reports on the situation of political and civil prisoners, executions, children and adolescents, women, workers, etc., constitute another part of this institution’s activities.
Our principles, vision, and work plan are formed by the insistence on the right to self-determination; civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights; the right to a peaceful and dignified living environment; and human dignity. Furthermore, our other activities include striving for the development and universalization of the meanings and concepts of human rights and freedoms, and strengthening the spirit of solidarity and unity for a society free from violence. From the perspective of “Chaw News” (Kurdistan Human Rights Center of Iran), all nationalities living in Iran must enjoy their national, linguistic, and cultural rights; these rights must be officially recognized, and they should be involved in the joint administration of the country without any discrimination or othering.
We work to eliminate all forms of injustice and discrimination. We consider the freedom of belief, the choice of different religions and faiths, the holding of meetings, gatherings, and assemblies, and the establishment of political and civil centers and institutions to be the legitimate right of the people, and we will strive to achieve it. Chaw News is explicitly opposed to execution, stoning, amputation, torture, and the inhumane treatment of convicts and criminals. We will also strive to eliminate gender inequality between men and women and stand against all injustices.
“Chaw News” will endeavor to be the voice of freedom and human justice for the realization of the rights of the people of Iranian Kurdistan. Also, with the support of the people, we will bring all cases of human rights violations to the attention of the world.
